In Spite of the Script, the Musical is in Total and Utter Chaos
Sometimes I feel that despite the script, the musical is in total and utter chaos.
But, regardless of the plans you have, life doesn’t follow a script. Sometimes, the greatest moments in life are unplanned.
Of course, there are major factors that hinder your unplanned moments.
Lack of cars, lack of money, lack of inspiration, lack of intrigue, all of these can contribute.
I guess where I’m going with this is that youth is a ball and chain, yet it is the time where every adult wishes to grasp.
I think that’s why youth is always out of the elder’s grasp. If you were youthful all of the time, then you couldn’t admire it. To the young, it is a hindrance. No one takes you seriously, no one acknowledges your spirit, no one wants to listen.
We all wish to belong somewhere in which people recognize our talents, our strife, our pain and our grief. The journey (and a hindrance) of youth is the lack of prior knowledge. To find someone who is a true friend is difficult in this day in age. Society focuses on the ‘self’ only. Every man for himself.
In truth, we have all lost sense of community. Community allows us to give back, to give to someone less fortunate or even share a tale that can brighten a day.
I believe with all my heart that the only way back to the musical is via the script. No one wishes to follow the script though. The script is perceived as a restriction upon the self. Selfishness, the cruel fiend, wishes to be free. “Why should you follow some dumb script?” asks the Selfishness. “Why should you be restricted to a mere copy of someone else’s handiwork?”
To realize the usefulness of the script is to realize who created it, and that in creating it, you are following a destiny for the role in which you were placed. The world is literally your stage. Think of this.
Who will you touch by the portrayal of a character years, decades, centuries, eons ago?
May the script guide you, reader.
